RESCUE AT SEA.

CREW OF SINKING SHIP. (United Press Association—Copyright.) NEW YORK, November 19. The Cunard liner Mauretania, beating a number of other vessels, including the America, commanded by Captain Fried of the Antinoe and Florida rescues, picked up 29 members of the crew, and the wife of the captain, of the sinking Swedish freighter Ovidia. The Ovidia bad been abandoned in a storm in mid-Alantic. The crew were in two boats 400 miles south-east of Cape Race. . The America was ten hours off its course in answering the Ovidia’s 5.0.5., but the greater speed of the Mauretania brought her to the scene first.
