PERSONAL.

Mr George Jameson, until recently Vice-Consul for Norway in Christchurch, has been honoured by King Haakon by appointment as a Knight of the First Class of the Order of St. Olav. The honour has been conferred in recognition of the services which Mr Jameson rendered Norwegian interests during the term of about 12 years as Vice-Consul. Mr Jameson received the Cross of the Order the other day, together with the diploma accompanying it.

A Wellington telegram states that Mr G. A. Troup has definitely announced that he is not again standing for the Mayoralty of that city.
