ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO ENTER. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Shortly before midnight a masked man was arrested in the doorway of a shop in Karangahape Road. A nightwatchman, making his rounds, discovered that a window in a front door had been smashed. He called the police, and while searching for a telephone saw a man in the doorway. Later in th© morning Patrick Gunn, aged 35', was charged with having attempted to break and enter an office with intent to commit a crime. He was remanded, bail being refused, the Chief Detective saying that accused was an habitual criminal out on license. •
