LATE MR PATERSON.

FUNERAL AT ASHBURTON. The funeral of Mr Robert McMeekin Paterson, of Methven, which was held at the Ashburton Cemetery, leaving the residence of his brother-in-law, $Mr G, Challis, was attended by a large number of friends. The Rev. R. Morgan, of the Methven Presbyterian Church, officiated at the graveside, and the Oddfellows’ ritual was read by Bro. R. McDowell, jun., of the Mayfield Lodge. Four of the brethren also acted as pall-bearers, Mr Paterson having been a member of that lodge since its formation many years ago. A large number of wreaths were by relatives and friends. Mr Paterson, who had been ill for eight years, leaves a wife and six children.
