FIRE AT MASTERTON.

DRAPER'S STOCK DAMAGED. (Per Press Association. J MASTERTON. August 26. An electric iron which was left switched on, was the cause of a fire to-night in the shop of Mr G. Melyor, draper, Queen Street, Masterton. The fire was discovered by a tenant next door, Mr W. G. Perry, a gramophone dealer. The brigade quickly had the outbreak suppressed, but not before considerable damage was done to Mr Mclvor's new stock, which had arrived that day. Some of the stock in the shop suffered through smoke and water, that of Mr Perry also suffering slightly in that direction. The building was a one-storey wooden structure, and was owned by Mrs Mary Rue.
