FRONTIER TROUBLES
CONDITIONS IN INDIA. ANOTHER SERIOUS CLASH. INDIAN TROOPS AND TRIBESMEN (Laited Press Association—Copyright.) DELHI, August 26. The situation on the North-West Frontier, which, had appeared to be improving, became worse during the week-end. There was a serious clash yesterday near Domi, in the Bannu district, between Government forces and a large armed force of Hathikhel and Wazirs. A mixed force of regular infantry, frontier constabulary, and police left Bannu early in the morning to prevent a meeting of hostile tribesmen. Captain F. Ashcroft, of the Frontier Force Rifles, was shot dead from behind, and fierce hand-to-hand fighting resulted in nine Indian soldiers being killed and 10 wounded", while 26 tribesmen were killed, five wounded and 70 prisoners were taken.
