At the women’s tennis tournament at Forest Hills, in the final of the doubles, Miss Betty Nuthall and Miss Sarah Palfrey beat Mrs Harper and Miss Cross, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5. AMERICAN DOUBLES TOURNEY. (Received This Day, 11,55 a.m.) NEW YORK, August 25. In the first round, of the national doubles tennis tournament at Brookline (Mass.) on Monday, Oliff and F. J. Peary (England) defeated James Nuthall and Avory (England) 7-5, 7-5, 5-7, 6-3.
