Mr F. C. Milne, of the staff of the Bank of New Zealand, formerly of Oamaru, and at present relieving at Methven branch, lias received notice of his transfer to the Christchurch office.
The directors of the | National Insurance Company has appointed Mr J. Sutherland Ross, of Ross and Glendining, Ltd., to fill the vacancy on the Board occasioned by the death of Mr T. Glendining (says a Press Association message).
Mr H. D. Johnston (president of the Ashburton Boxing Association) left for Palmerston North last evening to attend the annual conference of the New Zealand Boxing Association. He will also act. as one of the South Island judges during the contests.
Miss H. Neville, who has been on the staff of the Ashburton Technical School for the last year, has severed her connection with the school, in view of her approaching marriage, and leaves Ashburton to-morrow. She was met by the members of the staff this afternoon, when the principal (Mr R. J. Thompson) presented her with a travelling rug.
