CROSSING ACCIDENTS.

SEVENTY-SEVEN THIS YEAR. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 18. Seventy-seven railway level crossing accidents occurred in New Zealand during the first six months of this year. Forty-six occurred in the North Island, and thirty-one in the South Island This information was given in a return presented to the House of Representatives to-day on the motion of Mr W. J. Jordan (Lab., Manukau). The number of the fatal accidents was not asked for.
