HUMANE SOCIETY AWARDS. (Special to the "Guardian.") CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The Court of Directors of the Royal Humane Society of New Zealand yesterday made the following awards: Letter of commendation and in memoriam certificate to relatives of Hubert Noel Dew, 21 years of age, who lost his life attempting to rescue Leslie George W. Goldsack in the Municipal Baths, Woodville, on November 7, 1929. Letters of Commendation: To John Thomas Home, 21 years of age, who recovered the body of H. N. Dew. lo John Charles Orme (60 years) and John Fraukland (41 years) for rescuing Miss Wrigley from drowning ■ near the ferry wharf, Day's-Eay, Wellington, on March 6, 1930. Certificates: To Gregor Marshal (21 years) for rescuing George E. Gilham from drowning at Kaiti AY hart, Gisborne, on July 3, 1930, and to Percival Ravmond Foster (19 years) for rescuing 'from drowning James Whitelaw, at Wellington, on May 3, 19^U.
