CANADA'S MIGRANTS
FROM EUROPEAN LANDS. RESTRICTION TO FARMERS. POSSESSED OF ADEQUATE MEANS (United Press Association— Copyright.) (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) OTTAWA, August 15. The Minister of Immigration (Mr Gordon) announced to-day the discontinuance of immigration from the Continent of Europe with the exception of experienced farmers of a suitable type possessing ample means immediately to establish and maintain themselves and their wives and children on the basis of persons already established in Canada.
FOUR AUSTRALIANS BARRED. NOT SUFFICIENT CAPITAL. (Received This Day, 11.5 a.m.) VANCOUVER, August 15. Four Australian labourers who arrived b 3 T the Niagafra have been.refused admission on the ground that they have insufficient capital and are likely to become a charge on the public.
