The results for the first month indicate the benefits the unemployed are deriving from the Governments emergency scheme. . Five thousand men are already working, and £oO,UUUUhas been distributed among them. Another 2500 begin to-day, and by the end of the week 10,000 will be earning wages, for £he first time this winter. REVENUE IN NEW SOUTH WALES (United Press Association—Copyright.) SYDNEY, August 3. The New South Wales unemployment tax of 3d in the £1 on wages and salaries produced £107,000 'during July. By the end of the year it will total over a million sterling, and with other forms of income to be taxed will bring the aggregate to the anticipated three millions. /
