EMPIRE FREE TRADE.

FRENCH AND GERMAN VIEWS. EFFECT ON THE DOMINIONS,(United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.15 a.m.) v LONDON, July 20. Officials of the French Ministry of Commerce admit that they are watching the Empire Free Trade campaign anxiously, fearing it will menace the economic security of Europe. France s trade with Canada is already suffering owing to Canada’s new preferences for British goods. J „ Dr. Gremcar (a member of the German Reichstag) expresses the opinion that if Britain changed the' basis of international trade which has existed for a century it would ultimately be to the disadvantage of the whole Empire. He asks: What will become of the Dominions’ separate trade agreements with Germany?
