In the inter-zone final of the Davis Cup contest Allison (U.S.A.) beat Stefans (Italy), 7-9, 6-4, 8-6, 10-8. Lott (U.S.A.) was leading de Morpurgo, 3-6, 9-7, 10-8, when play was abandoned owing to the bad light.
