TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO. (From the "Guardian," April 23, 1904.) Willowby.—Mr and Mrs Joseph Hopwood, having left the district to take up their residence in the Fairlie district, their neighbours and friends in the Willowby and Eiffelton districts subscribed for and purchased an ornamental eight-day clock which will be forwarded at once to them. Road Boards.—Messrs J. G; Cree and G. Harrison have been elected members of the Anania Road Board, being the only nominations. Messrs W.Jewell, M. G. Rich and W. H. Stevens, being the only persons nominated, have been duly elected members of the Coldstream Road Board. Messrs H. J. Harrison and; Thomas Moreland have been elected members of -the South Pakaia Road Board. Chertsey Sports and Racing Club.— The annual sports and races held under the auspices of the Chertsey Sports and Racing Club were held yesterday in the local Domain under ideal conditions.
