ROAD BOARD
THE COLDSTREAM DISTRICT. The Coldstream Road Board met on Thursday, when there were present Messrs Geo. Tait (chairman), W. ■ M. Brute, W. McKeage and J. C. Guinness. Mr Tait stated that a ready response had been made to the appeal for the cancer campaign, and that up to the ■present £6O had been received for this district, but that the list was not complete. The Ashburton County Council advised that from April 1 the Council would only pay threepence each for rat tails instead of sixpence each as in the past. Notice of transfer was received from Mr G. 0. Nicoll that the land formerly under the names of John and Robert Nicholas has now been .transferred to Robert Nicholas. 637 acres 2 roods 17 perches, Block 1., 11.. Coldstream Survey District, and NHL and XV.. Hinds Survev District, \ being R.S. 33096, lot R.S.'s 32901 and 33267; also lot 1, D.P. 4042. pt. R.S. 33268. The Valuation Department advised that some time would elapse before the rolls were totalled and summarised, owing to a list of assessments to which objections to values have been lodged, and these will first have to be dealt with. The clerk's report was received, dealing with the work carried out during the past month.
