THE WEATHER.
FIVE DEGREES OF FROST. Five degrees of fz*ost were recorded here this morning, this being the second occasion on which frost has been experienced, 4.5 degrees being recorded on March 11. The atmosphere retained its chill until about mid-day, when it disappeared under the influence of the sun's rays. Conditions remained pleasant throughout the remainder of the dav.
The .barometric pressure at 9 o'clock this morning was 29.6 S inches, compared with 29.36 inches yesterday. The extreme temperatures yesterday were 70.9 and 35 degrees, as against 69.6 and 48 on Monday. TO-DAY'S FORECAST. ~~~~ !• The following weather forecast was issued to-day:— Indications are for southerly winds. Expect changeable rnd showery weather. The night will probably be very cold, with frosts inland. Barometer rising.
