CANCER CAMPAIGN.

COLLECTION IN ASHBURTON. EFFORT TO RAISE .02,100. Fostered by an energetic executive, a canvass of the Ashburton Borough and .County will be made next week, in an endeavour to raise £2500 as the Ashburton quota of the £25,000 allotted to the Canterbury, Westland, Nelson and [Marlborough districts for the British Empire Cancer Campaign Society.

The campaign will commence with the screening of the cancer film at His Majesty’s Theatre on Mondny night, when Professor d’Ath will demonstrate the film, and Mr C. S. Thomas will make an appeal for funds. Commencing on Tuesday, squads of collectors will make a call at every house in Ashburton and the County. Public meetings will he held in several of the County centres. The campaign will last till Saturday of next week.
