Mr Ramsay MacDonald, in a message to the electors for the Brightside Division of Sheffield, the representation of which is vacant through Mr A. Ponsonby’s elevation to the peerage, claims the Government has successfully pursued a policy commanding general approval. It has upheld legitimate British interests, but lias taken steps to improve relations and stren<2j£ien the foundations oC assured well-organised peace. At present it was taking part in a. vital conference seeking to limit and reduce naval armaments. In this great task it is essential that the Government should have the backing of the British people. “We appeal to electors of Brightside,” says Air MacDonald. “to encourage up with an unmistakeable vote of confidence.”
