TIMELY WARNING.

BOMB IN BRITISH MUSEUM.

REPORTED INDIAN ATTEMPT. (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, February 2. Following a telephone message from a stranger giving the name of All Khan, who declared that lie had overheard Indian students plotting to blowup the Indian Room at the British Museum , the authorities made an extensive search and discovered, a circular package wrapped in newspaper, to which a fuse was attached. It was under a staircase near the Indian Gallery. . . . .

Scotland Yard officials are examining the bomb, which is obviously homemade, with a view to determining whether it is destructive or a dummy. If an explosion had occurred it would have caused irreparable damage to the superb collection of religious carvings.

Scotland Yard has issued a statement that the bomb found in the British Museum undoubtedly contained explosive nmtter, but its extent cannot be stated until it has been .analysed by the Home Office.
