FILIPINO PROBLEM.
THEIR EXCLUSION SOUGHT. INDEPENDENCE AS THE PRICE. (United Press Association —Copyrignt.) (Received This Day, 9.25 a.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, February 2. Delegations will shortly leave for Washington to ask the Government to settle California’s Filipino problem. Labour leaders will ask that all l 1 uipino immigration he excluded.. A rival committee of Filipinos, themhselves representing more than 60,000 at present living in California, will agree to accept exclusion if, the Philippines are given independence. They want home rule for Manila so badly that almost 60,000 will agree to return westward across the Pacific if America will withdraw from the islands. The Labour Union delegates will reply that if this is the price of exclusion they are quite willing to see the Philippines obtain independence.
