BOXING.
FAIRHALL v. HANCOCK. (United Press Association—Copyright.) SYDNEY, January 17. At Leichhardt Stadium to-night, for the welter-weight championship ■ of fifteen rounds, before a huge attendance, Tommy Fairhall (9.135), fought a draw with Wally Hancock (10.45), the title-holder, in a hard contest. Hancock, who was doing most of the leading, was in trouble in the fourth, while Fairhall. was floored in the seventh. Hancock was down twice for the count of. nine in the eleventh, and when he rose he .planted a fierce punch' in Fairhall's eye, which was damaged. Fail-hall showed fine generalship by evading much punishment, but Hancock took more than his share of the body punches.
