PRESENTATION OF PRIZES.

CEREMONY AT LISMORE.' The annual break-up and nrizegiving was held in the Lismore School grounds on Thursday afternoon, the most pleasing feature being the arrival of Father Christmas, to whom the children gave a cheery welcome. An adjournment was then made to the school, 'where, from a Christmas tree, heavily laden, toys and balloons were presented by Father Christmas, each child reoeiving a gift. In a short address Mr Fleming (chairman) made feeling reference to the death of Miss Broughan, former teacher. He eulogised the work of Mr Jordan (relieving teacher), four pupils having gained proficiency ajid one competency. The chairman called upon Father Christmas ! to present the prizes, each child in the school receiving a beautiful book. Special prizes were presented as follow :—Aggregate marks: Rosina Baxter 1, Edna Sparrow 2 ; special prize, Jean Baxter. , Sewing—Standards V. and VJ.: Audrev Clucas 1, Muriel Shilling 2. WESTERFIELD. A very enjoyable concert was held in the Westerfield School on Thursday evening, on the occasion of the annual break-up. Items were contributed by an Ashbnrton party consisting of Misses A. and W. JlcKenzie, Nancy Bishop and P. Taylor, Messrs E. Tarbotton, E. Craighead, R. l'onton and John McMillan. . Mr W. T.
