RESCUE OF TWO OTHERS. HEROIC ACT IN SURF. (United Press Association —Copyright.) (Received Tliisf Dav. 10.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Two schoolgirls, Tholma Riley, 13. and Elw Hamilton, aged nine, were drowned' in the surf at Thirroul, on the south coast. Two others in the same party were rescued at the point of exhaustion. ' The tragedy was relieved only by the heroism of a beach inspector, Mr John Rankin, who, after rescuing the two. searched for the others. He had to be dragged forcibly from the water and required medical attention.
