All the men were acquitted and discharged.
The arrests of the alleged conspirators followed the stoning of the police by timber strikers during a mass picketing demonstration. As volunteer workers vero leaving the yards, 203 police were in attendance as escorts. Two thousands strike pickets, urged on by women, caused a disturbance, stones flying freely. The police succeeded in controlling the situation, though subjected to verbal abuse, while women spat at them.
