ENTERTAINMENTS.

MAJESTIC THEATRE. "La Boheme" will be shown tonight and to-morrow night, with a oast of exceedingly popular playersheaded by Lilian Gish as the frail and affectionate Mimi, John Gilbert as the robust Rodolphe. and Reneo Adore© as Musette. The players have been guided by King Vidor, and the picture is one 'of the famous Latin Quarter ol Paris. Puccini's opera has been left intact bv the screen, which is something to be devoutly grateful for. How tempting it might have been to send Mimi away, after that last pathetic letter, perhaps into some warmer clime, and bring her back at the end a blooming maiden with red cheeks. How simple to make the naive Rodolphe a more understanding fellow, who could read betweem the lines of an editor s letter. For Rodolphe was a poet that no publisher could recognise and Minn was a seamstress with an apparently endless flow of francs. WESTMINSTER GLEE SINGERS. It is one of the crowning glories of British singing that its boy sopranos have for centuries been unequalled in the world, and the pre-eminence has existed until the present day. It must never be forgotten that the training of" these boys is of such a nature, and extends over such a long period that they are veritably professional vocalists of experience. Most Cathedral choirs in Great Britain have no less than fourteen services per week, and often with ditily rehearsals so it is no wonder that such an extraordinary pitch ot excellence is reached in these young choristers. Jn the Westminster Glee Singers, who are to perform at the Majestic Theatre on Saturday afternoon and evening, will be found six of these youngsters, who for beauty of voice, avtlessness and purity of expression could not be excelled anywhere in the world. They are reminiscent of a beautiful phase of English musical culture, and have always proved one of the great sources of attraction wherever the Glee Singers have appeared. The Box Plans are at the Bristol.
