Charitable Aid Board.—At a meetring of the Charitable Aid Board yesterday, it was reported that the allocation of the contributions from local 'bodies for charitable purposes for the -Ashburton County in the financial year -of 1904-5 was set down as follows: Ashburton County £949 12s; Ashburton Borough £B3 10s 4d. Ashburton County Racing*Club.—lne autumn meeting of the Ashburton County Racing Club was commenced this afternoon in fine weather. Results up to the time of going to press were as follow; —Lagmhor Hack Handicap ,of 25 sovs ; six furlongs—Bl Mr D. McKendry's Mangess 1, 42 Eurus 2, 16 Foreman 3. Time, linin. 17sec.
