COLLIE DOG TRIALS.
METHVEN CLUB'S PROGRAMME.
The committee of the Methven Collie Dog Club met at Alford Forest, Mr L. Nell presiding over a good attendance. „, „ , _ Mr T. S. Harrison's offer of Drayton Estate for the annual trials was accepted with thanks. It was decided to hold the trials on June 6 and 7, with an extra day if necessary. The following programme was approved : Heading and bringing back; heading, bringing back and yard; huntaway and slew.
Trophies will be given to dogs the property of bona fide residents, which must score 20 points. The district was defined as lying between the South Branch of the Ashburton River and the south bank of the Rakaia. It was decided that entries close on May 31. • It was arranged to hold a smoke concert at Methven on the evening of the first day of the trials.
Mr John Morgan, of Mount Somers, was appointed judge and Mossrs G. L. Nell and P. M. Bates timekeepers.
