SHORT STAY AT CAIRO. DUE AT LONDON ON WEDNESDAY LONDON, December 9. There is the keenest interest in the Prince of Wales's journey. The whole country will be relieved when he reaches London. He managed to secure a little exercise at Cairo, where he played an energetic game of squash racquets. He then made necessary purchases of clothing, and he visited the famous bazaar and bought three Bokhara carpets and tried to find an ancient Arab chest, but this was not obtainable. Later ho went to the Citadel, whence he had a magnificent view, and also visited King Fuad, afterwards going to the station, where ho entrained for Port Said and rejoined the Enterprise. He sailed at 11.20 o'clock in the evening, and is ex-1 pected to arrive at Brindisi within 24 hours, and at London on Wednesday morning. It is reported from Brindisi that crowds are already gathering, although the authorities have been warned from Rome that the Prince must not be interrupted by demonstrations. The Italian aeroplane lias arrived, and will bo placed at the Prince of Wales's disposal.—Australian Press Association.

BRONZED, BUT TIRED. CAIRO, December 8. When the Prince of Wales arrived, owing to the early hour there were no large crowds assembled, but many people who were proceeding to work respectfully saluted him. The Prince w r as looking very bronzed, but tired. He drove to the Residency with Lord Lloyd, where he was shown the latest bulletins, and was relieved to hear the reassuring news. The railway company operating the Flying (Scotsman has arranged for copies of the morning bulletin issued after the departure from London to be telegraphed to York, where travellers are informed.
