News from Chicago states that as a probable result of the re<®nt election in which the State Attorney (Judge Crowe) was defeated, Ben Newmark ’/'formerly chief investigator foi Judge Crowe) was murdered by unknown assassins, who fired a charge from a sawed-off shotgun through a bedroom window as he was preparing to retire.
