THE WEATHER.
PLEASANT DAY FOLLOWS FROC". Another mild frost, the sixth this month, was experienced here last night, four degrees being recorded this morning. The weather to-day was pleasant, with a northerly breeze. The barometer reading at 9 o’clock this morning was 29.77 inches as against 29.59 inches yesterday.
The maximum and minimum temperatures registered yesterday were 65 and 36 degrees as against 70 and 56 on Sunday. A damp night was experienced round the hills (says the “Guardian’s” Staveley correspondent) last evening. Light rain began to fall at mid-day, but toward evening the rain eased, and after dark little rain fell, though conditions were damp, cold and dark.
OFFICIAL FORECAST. The following forecast was issued to-dav: - Indications are for westerly moderate winds, freshening. There is a. prospect of fair to cloudy and milder weather, but later increasing haze and cloudiness. Barometer little movement, but falling shortly.
