THE AUTUMN MEETING. THE' CONCLUDING RESULTS. The Ashburton Trotting Club’s autumn nieeting on Saturday was in even way a success. Glorious weather favoured the day, and there vas a very large attendance of patrons from most centres in Canteihuiy. - special train- brought nearly 800 people from Christchurch and buses brought another large crowd. This increased attendance was reflected in the totaiisator, which handled £l7, compared with a. total of £16,88/ for the autumn meeting last year/ Once more the club has to be near tin congratulated on the success of the meeting, a success that was due to The excellence of the arrangements tnat had been made. Generally speaking the racing was good, and several of the finishes were very close. The concluding results were:—

Brent Boy was out in front by several lengths after a good start, with Connie Audubon second. Passing the stand the order was! Brent Boy, Reta Crena, and Lonesome. Going round to the back Lonesome took second place, and then gave way to Len Wood. Rota .Core-na came np and led till halfway down the straight when she broke and Len Wood got in a winner by three lengths, with New Metford twelve lengths back, third. Time—4.4l 2-o sec.

Hustler and Lulu Lad led out from tlie start, and round the back the order was Hustler,/ Ayr, Dillon Gold, Jackie Audubon and Yoicks. Coming round the far bend Dalmeny began to show up. It was a sharp tussle in the straight, and the finish waJ exciting, a/ head separating first from second, and the third horse being only a head away. Time—2min. 47see.

Nipper - and Springtime led away from the start, and round the back Event shot out m fiont, followed by Nipper, Springtime find Logan King. Coming into the straight Double Event was still' in front, and went on to win by half a length fi om C Rufine, which was a length ahead of Logan King. Time—2.l2 3-5.
