MOBILE'S DEPARTURE.

There was a great scene at Milan, when Colonel Nobile'is airship Italia set out on its flight to the North PoleTwo hundred soldiers brought it out from the hangar in the small hours of the morning. The whole aerodrome was lighted by powerful searchlights. The •airship is painted white and carries the flag which the Duke of Abruzzi's expedition used in 1900. Commander Nobile was the last to enter the cabin carrying a terrier dog -as mascot. Colonel Nobile in a statement said they were departing on a test flight. If the weather conditions wefe favourable they would return only when the flight over the Pole had been accomplished. —Australian Press Association.
AGAINST STRONG HEAD WINDS. CRAFT PASSES VIENNA, i (Received This Day, 10.40 BERLIN., April 15. The Italia, battling against strong head winds, passed Vienna this afternoon, trying to reach Stolp, Bast Prussia, on the first day.—Australian Press Association.
