THE WEATHER.
CHANGEABLE WEEK-END. Fine but chilly weather was experienced in Ashburton on Saturday. A thick fog enveloped the town late on Saturday- night, but lifted early yesterday morning. . The atmosphere was pleasantly warm yesterday, the sun shining brightly at intervals tliroughout the day. Light rain fell early this morning, and for the 24 hours ended at 9 o'clock one point was registered. The sky today was overcast, and light rain fell at intervals during the day. The barometer reading at 9 o clock this morning was 29.52 inches, as against 30.10 inches yesterday, and a similar reading on .Saturday. The maximum and minimum 'temperatures yesterday were 73 and 60 degrees respectively, compared with 64 and 45 degrees on Saturday , and 77 and 55 degrees on Friday.
OFFICIAL FORECAST. The following forecast was issued to-day :• - . Indications are for southerly winds moderate to strong. The weather will probably prove cold and showery, _and squally and changeable at times. Barometer rising.
