The annual sports riKelir.g of the Ashburton Amateur Cycling, and Athletic Club was hf-Jd in the Domain to-day in beautiful weather. A good piogramrne had been drawn up,-and the competitors numbered over 200. Well-known visitors were: M. Leadbetter (N.Z. short distance champion), E B. E. Taylor (N.Z. University and Canterbury champion), Miss * Boyd (Canterbury ladies' champion). Prominent among the Ashburton competitors were: K. Johnston (Coim-, try Clubs' champion), and Guy Nicoll (Canterbury champion). The standard maintained throughout the afternoon was good, and many close finishes were seen. i ..- . ;
Mrs H. F. NicoH presented the H. F. Nicoll Cup to the Ashburton teamj. winners of the mile medley relay.
