TAKAPUNA JOCKEY CLUB. EDEN HALL WINS CUP. AUCKLAND, January 28. The Takapuna Jockey Club's summer meeting was opened to-day. The weather was fine and there was a large attendance. The totalisator handled £48,394, compared with £58,213 on the corresponding day last year, which was Anniversary Day. Concluding results: Stewards' Handicap—3 Tea Time 1, 4 Dave 2, 1 High Finance 3. Transformer led into the straight and in an exciting finish Eden Hall got up in the last stride and won by a head. Mint Leaf was a length and a half away third, with Desert Glow fourth. ALLEGED INTERFERENCE. F. HOLMES DISQUALIFIED. At the close of the running of the Stewards' Handicap, at the Forbury , Park Trotting Club's meetincr on Saturday, the patrol steward (Mr R. M. reported that F. Holmes,

(the driver of Royal Authoress, had crossed Cardinal and Blue at the far bend in the last circuit. The Judicial 'Committee heard the evidence of Mr Greenslade, S. Todd (driver of Cardinal and Blue), R. B. Berry (driver of Dundas Boy) and F. Holmes (driver of Royal Authoress). After lengthy consideration it was decided to disqualify Holmes for three months for inter-j fering with Cardinal and Blue, and also to severely caution R. B. Berry for giving unsatisfactory evidence at the inquiry. . Holmes hag appealed against the decision of the committee. .
