MENACE TO SOCIETY.

WOMAN IMPRISONED. PALMERSTON N., January 26. Phyllis Back, who on Saturday escaped from the local lock-up, was recaptured yesterday and was sentenced this morning to twelve months’ imprisonment for having no lawful visible means of support. Accused created a scene in Court and’ had to be forcibly removed. A lengthy record of previous convictions was detailed by a police sergeant, who described Back as a menace to society.
