RECORD FOR SEASON
HALF-BRED EWE WOOL. FIRST INVERCARGILL SALE. INCREASE ON WANGANUI RATES. (Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, This Day. A full and representative bench of buyers assembled for the first wool sale of the 1928 season, held to-day in the Municipal Theatre. The sale was buoyant throughout and prices realised were very satisfactory .to vendors. The wool opened up in light, but clean condition. At noon about onelthird of the total offering had been disposed of, with only one small lot passed in at auction. Prices were appreciably higher than those paid at the recent Wanganui sale, while the record price for the Dominion for this season was obtained for a line of half-bred ewe, .which made 27d. Medium crossbred made from 15d to 18d, fine crossbred 18d to 20d, half bred 20d to 26d, super lots! to 27d; hoggets, medium 15d to 17d, fine 18d to 20d, ha If bred tb 22jd.
