WELCOME IN PARIS. GORGEOUS CEREMONIAL. (Press Association—Copyright.) PARIS, January 25. The King and Queen of Afghanistan: v have arrived and were greeted at the l ' station by a smiling President, booming guns, and the Afghan national anthem.
The King was a handsome figure in.: the gorgeous red. gold, and silver uni- • form of an Afghan general, with a-i white egret plume in his cap. The 4 Queen, who would pass anywhere for* a European, was wearing a smart hat ; of brown velour and a fur coat.
There was a touching scene when - Prince Hedayatullah, aged sixteen and’ a half, who is studying m Paris, greeted his parents, whom he has not seen for two years. " Then began'an imposing and colourful procession along the Champs Elysees, through the Place de la Concorde to the Ministry for Foreign Af—fairs, where the royal party are the • guests of France. I King Amanullah is -using the bed" on which Napoleon slept,* and the writing table that was used by Gambetta. King Amanullah’s arrival in Londonis fixed for March 14.
