N.Z. FLOCK RAMS.

AUSTRALIAN ASSERTION RESENTED. (Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, January 20. . 4. well-known Southland sheepbreeder expressed to-day strong resentment at the remarks attributed to Mr McNaught before the Tariff Board at Sydney, that the export trade between New Zealand and Australia m flock rams was not a genuine trade and that only scrubs were being shipped to the Commonwealth. Me instanced many cases of Southland breeders who had made a name for themselves at the Sydney and Melbourne shows. One breeder had letter after letter extolling the excellence ot tne sheep he sent over. Mr McNaugbt's remarks, he urges, were largely contrary to fact and wholly unjustifiable. He admits, however that a few inferior sheep have at times, been exported and urges all breeders for the sake of the. good name of New Zealand to send only; typical well-bred sheep.
