MILITARY SERVICE.

(Per Press Association— LONDON, January 20. The correspondent of "The Times" in Paris says the Chamber of Deputies* adopted November 1, 1930, as the date for the introduction of the one-year period of military service. It is also provided that soldiers, in the event of n. possible war, may be retained with the colours for a further six months. The Bill was adopted by 410 votes to 23.
