EIFFEL TOWER.

REPORT OF DEMOLITION.

DENIAL IN ENGLISH PAPER

LONDON, January. 14. The "Daily Mail" says it is glad to bear that the reported intention to demolish ffoe> Eiffel Tower is 1 not true. Such action would have caused many sentimental regrets. For 40 years 1 it has been one of the world's most famous landmarks and has been universally considered a kind of symbol of Paris, which never had a finer advertisement. Yet it was once regarded as a white elephant. It was invaluable to the Allies' during the war ,when its powerful transmitting plant broadcast war news all over the world. From it, operators successfully jammed the German wireless, .which undoubtedly helped to win the battle of the Marne.
