PERIOD OF FIVE YEARS. WAGES IN THE DOMINION. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A Conciliation Council discussed the workers’ claim for a now Dominion award for the clothing manufacturing trade. The secretary of the Employers’ Association (Mr Prime) made a statement reviewing the general trade position, and suggesting an industrial peace conference, having for its object a fiveyears’ truce in the matter of wages increases or decreases.
