BENEFITS AND DANGERS. EXPERIMENTS WITH TYPISTS. a LONDON, January 6. In an interesting dissertation on teadrinking, Professor Robert McDowall, President of Physiology at the London University, says that a good cup of tea promotes a sense of well-being. Tins he has proved in experiments with typists. The influence of a really good cup ot tea may last several hours, says Professor McDowall. This is due to the j caffeine constituent, but he warns ] against tannin as being wholly bad. It is usually the result of over-long brewing. . Caffeine, however, must be taken in moderation. If children drink above four cups a dav, tea is likely to produce tremors, disturbed sleep, headache, and general mental inefficiency.
