MAN BECOMES INSANE.
CONVICTED OF A MURDER. DELAY IN TRIAL CRITICISED. (Per Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, January 14. John Rowlands, who with Edward Rowlands and'Daniel Driscoll was sentenced to death for the murder of David Lewis, a well-known Rugby player, has lost Iris reason, and will be confined in the Broadmoor Asylum. There is considerable criticism of the delay of 37 days in hearing the appeal, which was dismissed on Thursday. This, it is stated, was due to the intervention of the Christmas holidays. Newspapers declare it is not in accordance with British justice that there should be such a king delay, and consequent suspense. The other two have been taken to Cardiff to await execution.
