THE WEATHER.

ELEVEN POINTS OF RAIN. Rain fell last night, 11 points being recorded at 9 o'clock. To-day dawned cold and gloomy. The sky was heavily overcast, and a; south-west wind presaged further rain. The barometer at 9 o'clock this morning registered 30.2 inches as against 29.86 yesterday. The maximum and minimum temperatures yesterday were 69 and 49 degrees respectively compared with 73 and 49 on Thursday. OFFICIAL FORECAST. The following forecast was issued to-day:— Indications are for south-easterly winds. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled. Misty, showery and cool weather, improving shortly. Barometer shows little movement.
