There was a large attendance, including the Prime Minister, the Minister of Lands, and other members of the legislature. The totalisator handled £8399 10s, an increase of £159 10s on the amount handled on the corresponding day last year: — Maiden Handicap, of 60 sovs; six furlongs.—2 Takutamu 1, 1 Exalted 2, 4 Connax 3. Won by a length, half a length between second and third. Tokatoka Handicap, of 60 sovs; six furlongs.—s Wee Marble 1,. 1 Automme 2, 4 Creation 3. Won by a length, half a length between second and third. Time, lmin 16 3-ssec. Kaihu Hurdle Handicap, of 120 sovs; one mile and five furlongs.—2 Scot Free 1, 3 Maniahera 2, 4 Master Arch 3. Won by two lengths, four lengths between second and third. Time, 3min 8 2-ssec. Settlers’ Handicap, of 60 sovs; five fui’longs.—l Houhora 1, 3 Marble Mount 2,2 Winning Lass Heads between the placed horses. Time! lmin Dargaville Cup Handicap, of 200 sovs: one mile and a quarter. —5 Sir lioseberry 1, 1 Alonsoa 2, 3 Eight and Left 3. Won by a length, half a length between second and third. Time, 2min lOsec. Avoca Handicap, of 100 sovs; six furlongs.—3 Macroom 1, 4 Itarakau 2, 1 ;Dave 3. Won by a head, a similar distance between second and third. Time, lmin 16sec.
