An avalanche was followed by an eruption in the Halemamamau fire pit. Molten lava is now flowing slowly from four cones of the volcano. No further details are obtainable. Dr. Jagoer (vulcanologist at Kilauea) says that the volcano's cycle has been shortened from a year to six months.
