NEW ZEALAND SEA CAPTAIN. (Per Press Association—Copyl ight ) LONDON, January 9. A Gazette says: Scotland Yard officials are searching for Captain Arthur Robert James Cant, who arrived in Dublin from New Zealand to take over the new Government steamer, Maui Pomare and subsequently went to Liverpool owing to a revision of the plans, since when he has not been seen. The Maui Pomare was built in England to the order of the New Zealand Government for use in trade between New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. AT ONE TIME AT OAMARU. OAMARU, This Day. Captain Cant, reported by cablegram as missing in England was formerly in the Union Company's service. He was for a time in charge of the Oamaru dredse. He married a daughter of Captain Dick, his nredecessor. Captain Cant went north and entered the Government service, finally being placed in command of the Hinemoa.
