TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO. (From "Guardian,” January 10, 1903). Primitive Aietnodist (Jonierence.— The programme arranged by the executive of the Primitive Aietnodist Conference for the week-end was a full and comprehensive one. Un Saturday morning at 8.30 trial sermons were preached by tne itevs. laddie and i< eatnerstone. in the evening an open-air meeting was held at the Somerset Corner, the speakers being the Keys. J. uoexer, C. Hi. Ward, ffiiu J- U'ipnerc., -Viessrs- rielci and Herbert, un Sunday, church services were held in the morning and evening. In tlie aiternoon a Camp Prayer Meeting was held in the Domain. The Allenton Temperance Brass Band played the hymns. Tne Kev. J. Dawson conducted the service and addresses were given by Air J. Clement, for 63 years a local preacher of the Primitive Methodist Church, Mr C. M. KuKe, and the itevs. P. C. Cosseni and \V. S. Potter. Fire at Chatmoss. —The homestead on the Chatmoss Estate, between Window and Windermere, was burned down last evening. Air It. B. Coward, manager of the Estate, who had valuable private effects in tbe house,. is a heavy loser.
